Hand-sewn
Our weavers in India use a needle to sew edges by hand, with the same coloured wool or TENCEL™ from which each rug is made. All Jacaranda’s stock rugs have hand-sewn edges. Bespoke rugs can be hand-sewn too.
Blind-hemmed
For this our most popular bespoke edging option, we match as closely as we can, a narrow cotton tape to your chosen rug centre. The quickest option for a stylishly understated edge.
Bordered
Our leather, cotton or linen borders create a statement edge to any rug. Please note that our leather borders include splices, because we prefer to use real leather rather than synthetic imitations.
Whipped
The edges of all but Jacaranda’s thickest textures can be over-locked by machine in a yarn of similar shade to the pile of the rug. This is the least expensive finish and delivery time is relatively short.
