At Jacaranda, we take pride in supporting new design talent through our rug design competition, run in partnership with KLC School of Design and West Dean. The winning designs are hand-tufted into luxurious rugs that showcase bold creativity and craftsmanship.
This year, we are delighted to unveil The Nordur Collection by 2025 winner Marianna Björk Ásmundsdóttir. Rooted in her native Iceland, Marianna’s designs capture a land where moss carpets ancient lava, snow rests upon rock, and icy winds carve across vast open ground.
The collection features two hand-tufted rugs, each crafted from TENCEL™ and New Zealand wool with sculpted high and low pile textures.
Haust Mosi layers earthy greens and natural tones to echo moss spreading across volcanic landscapes
Ventur Ískalt contrasts icy whites with deep shadow tones, evoking the stark, fractured beauty of Iceland’s frozen plains.
Together, these designs celebrate Iceland’s resilience and fragile harmony, bringing nature’s drama into interiors with elegance and depth.
