When it comes to carpets there can be a tendency to ‘play it safe’ or keep to a neutral canvas.
At Jacaranda our beiges are never boring. They shine or boast quirky textures. Beyond beige our colours span warm neutral tones, through soft pastels to vibrant bolds. The beauty of working with the interior design world is seeing first-hand how designers use our textures and palette to bring together their visions and elevate interior spaces.
Texture
It all starts with the texture. After several decades in the business Jacaranda’s founders and owners, Richard and Lucy Meager have a keen eye for design and an instinctive feel for what designers and their clients will like. Every year, they spend time with our mills in India, developing new and interesting textures to constantly push the boundaries of what the carpet industry expects. Our carpets and rugs are handmade by artisan weavers which gives a unique character, and the ability to create wonderful thick wool bouclés such as Chatra, and our deep luxurious wool/ TENCEL™ velvet Agra. The weight and depth of these carpets could never be recreated by machine.
Colour
Once a new range is born, next comes the colour. At this point Richard and Lucy come together with Design Manager, Angela and Marketing Director, Erica to develop the colours. Inspiration can come from many sources, time is taken to look at upcoming trends and colours across the world of design and fashion.
Travel and the origin of the range can also inspire, our recently launched Daiya/Desuri’s colourways were derived from the warm spices of India.
Inspire
When we launch new ranges, our Design Manager, Angela creates fabulous mood boards reflecting back on the initial concept / inspiration and pairing samples with luxury fabrics, paints and wallpapers.
